Toronto B-Girl Movement

Empowering young women through the powerful medium of breaking, The Toronto B-Girl Movement, is a program designed to influence women to step out of their comfort zone and try something new, possibly uncomfortable but ultimately  liberating … BREAKIN’ a.k.a. breakdancing.  

Open to women, trans and non-binary individuals aged 15-35, participants have the opportunity to expand their dance vocabulary, increase their capacity to represent as B-Girls, deepen their knowledge of women in hip-hop and empower themselves through Hip-Hop culture. 

 

PROGRAM DETAILS

- Twice a week program every Wednesday & Sunday from 6pm-9pm beginning January 13, 2019

- Wednesdays 6pm-7:30pm Intensive Training; 7:30pm-9pm Dinner and Discussion

- Sundays: 6pm-7:30pm Intensive Training; 7:30pm-9pm Open Session (Public Drop-in)

- Intensive dance training 

- Regular outings to attend and represent at local events.

- Facilitated by Soupy and Caerina with support from Judi Lopez

  

OBJECTIVES

- To increase representation in Toronto's B-Boy/B-Girl dance community

- To unite young leaders in the urban dance community 

- To inspire and support artistic and personal growth

  

Participants will be selected according to:

1. Commitment
2. Attendance
3. Representation
4. Continuation
