Before you book a space for an event, there are a number of things you should consider...

 

KNOW WHAT YOUR EVENT IS.

What do you want to do? Is it a performance, or a function, or another type of event? What is your overall budget?

 

CONSIDER WHICH SPACE(S) SUIT YOUR NEEDS

The Toronto Centre for the Arts has several delightful spaces available for rent—one will be perfect setting for your performance or event. The George Weston is ideal for orchestral performances and concerts, while the Studio is perfect for smaller theatrical shows, cabarets and dance. The Greenwin is the theatre of choice for mid-sized productions. The new Lyric Theatre, now the TCA’s largest space, provides a unique visual drama to complement your production. ENQUIRE ABOUT DATES

Once you’ve determined your needs and explored our spaces, either online or in person, you can discuss the best date(s) for your event with one of our Booking Coordinators.

 

SEND THE PRODUCTION DETAILS

We’ll help you make your event run smoothly. Start by sending us an event inquiry form via our estimator tool with as much detail as possible: what time of day your event is, whether you’d prefer a sound check on rehearsal day or the day of the show, how many performers you’ll have on stage, or how many guests you’ll be entertaining. versus a same day sound check, how many performers will be onstage, as well as additional details as to what type of event are you planning. The more details you are able to supply, the more accurate our estimate will be.  

 

REVIEW THE ESTIMATE

After we receive the details of your event, we will send you an event estimate and place your requested date(s) on hold for two weeks. We can revise the estimate if any of your event details change. When the estimate is satisfactory, sign it and send it back to us.

Please note that while the final contract is based on this signed estimate, the final bill can be affected by last-minute changes or your total sales. We’ll cover these details with you when we discuss the estimate.

 

SIGN THE CONTRACT

After we receive the signed estimate, we will send you the contract. Within 30 day of receiving the contract, we’ll require the signed contract and a 50% deposit, which will guarantee your rental space, and the personnel and equipment you’ll need for your event. The remaining 50% will be required one month before your event.

 

GET TICKETING AND MARKETING SUPPORT

After we received your signed contract, we’ll connect you with TCA staff who will help you with ticketing and marketing. Their contact info can is in our Welcome Aboard document.

 

SHOW SETTLEMENT

Within a week after the show or event, we’ll follow up with an account settlement document and either a cheque or an invoice, depending on your sales or any costs incurred after the contract was signed.
